Sheriff Patrick was a cousin of my father and about they were about the same age . I was about 11 years old when Sheriff Patrick was killed. When he was up on our end of the county he would stop by my dads house. Daddy always told Elvin to be careful. That led me to believe the Sheriff was dealing with some dangerous people in his capacity as Sheriff and that my dad was concerned for his safety. I guess he was right for his concern. I believe Sheriff Patrick was a good Sheriff.
