Raymond Vincent O'Connor

Police Officer Raymond O'Connor was killed in an automobile crash when the patrol car he was riding in was struck head-on by an oncoming vehicle on the Eastshore Freeway, south of Paseo Grande, in Hayward.

He and his partner were returning to San Francisco after patrolling state property in San Jose. The other driver was also killed.

Officer O'Connor had served with the agency for seven years and had previously served with the Hayward Police Department for five months. He was survived by his wife and daughter.
