I respectfully ask that you DENY PAROLE to Audie Fox, inmate #103592. This inmate is responsible for the murder of Deputy Sheriff Robert R. Lawson of the Itasca County Sheriff's Department (MN) in 1981.

Deputy Lawson was shot and killed while serving a warrant on inmate #103592.  The inmate’s estranged wife had contacted Lawson on the morning of Oct. 29, 1981, asking the deputy to go the inmate's home and pick up her two children, ages five and two, of whom she had legal custody.

Deputy Sheriff Lawson, who was off-duty at the time, received permission to go on-duty to go to the home, where he was ambushed by inmate #103592. Deputy Lawson refused to tell the inmate the whereabouts of his estranged wife, and attempted to reason with him, telling him not to do this in front of his children. Inmate #103592, however, shot the 11-year veteran of the sheriff’s office in the back of the head, killing him. The inmate then took his own young children hostage in an 18-hour stand-off with law enforcement.

Deputy Sheriff Lawson left behind a wife and seven children.

As a concerned citizen and in the interest of public safety, I again respectfully ask that you DENY PAROLE to inmate #103592. Justice demands that he be made to spend every remaining day of his FULL SENTENCE in prison.
