Dear Parole Board Members,

I ask that you please DENY PAROLE to Patrick Bannon, inmate #94A0386. This inmate participated in the brutal murder of Police Officer Paul Heidelberger of the New York City Housing Authority Police Department.

On Saturday, July 18, 1992, Police Officer Paul Heidelberger was shot and killed while attempting to break up a fight in front of a bar. Inmate #94A0386 opened fire on the group, striking Officer Heidelberger and two other men. Inmate #94A0386 then walked over and shot Officer Heidelberger and John Camarta in the head, killing them. Inmate #94A0386 fled the scene but was arrested several days later.

Officer Paul Heidelberger was just 28 years old at the time of his murder. He was a dedicated officer who had served with the New York City Housing Authority Police Department for six years and received three medals for Excellent Police Duty. Most importantly, he was a devoted son and brother.

As a concerned citizen and in the interest of public safety, I again respectfully and urgently ask that you DENY PAROLE to inmate #94A0386. Justice demands that he be made to spend every remaining day of his full sentence in prison.
