I respectfully ask that you DENY PAROLE to Allen L. Gaines, inmate #0139319. This inmate's premeditated, violent murder of Charlotte Patrol Officer Eugene Griffin in 1991 should preclude any and all consideration for parole.

On November 22nd, 1991, Officer Griffin was working an overtime assignment at a hotel. He asked three subjects to leave the establishment. They left, then returned a short time later and shot Officer Griffin in cold blood with a shotgun as he rose to confront them.

At the time of his violent murder, Officer Griffin was 42 years old. He left behind a wife, son, and daughter. He had served with the Charlotte Police Department for 21 years and had received 26 letters of commendation.

Since he has been incarcerated, Allen Gaines, inmate #0139319, has had 51 infractions.

As a concerned citizen and in the interest of public safety, I again respectfully ask that you DENY PAROLE to inmate #0139319. Justice demands that he be made to spend every remaining day of his full sentence in prison.
