I respectfully ask that you DENY PAROLE to Robert Jobe, inmate #A567481. This inmate brutally murdered Detective Keith Dressel on February 21, 2007.

Detective Keith Dressel was shot and killed when he and two other officers interrupted a drug deal on Ontario Street. After announcing they were officers, inmate #A567481 and another subject ran. The two officers apprehended the other subject while Detective Dressel pursued inmate #A567481. During the foot pursuit, inmate #A467481 pulled out a gun and fired at Detective Dressel, hitting him in the chest. Inmate #A467481 fled and was not arrested until eight hours later.

Inmate #A467481 admitted that he shot Detective Dressel. He was convicted of murder and sentenced to 15 years to life plus an additional three years. However, prior to killing Detective Dressel, inmate #A467481 had an extensive criminal record. A year before killing Detective Dressel, he was charged with being unruly after having been arrested in a drug house. He was directed to a diversion program, which he failed to complete. In June and August 2006, he was arrested and adjudicated delinquent for drug possession. He assaulted two patrol officers who attempted to stop him after he left a drug house. He promised to stop using drugs, but after positive screens for marijuana, cocaine, and amphetamines, he was fitted for an ankle monitor, which he removed the next day. Two months prior to murdering Detective Drexel, inmate #467481 was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and several misdemeanors after shooting a pistol outside a store. It took four officers to subdue him. Again, he was fitted with an ankle monitor, which he removed less than two weeks before slaying Detective Dressel at point-blank range.

Detective Keith Dressel was only 35 years old. He was a dedicated officer who served with the Toledo Police Department for 14 years. In 1998, he was honored for saving a man from a burning home and was highly regarded in the community. More importantly, Keith Dressel was a devoted husband, son, brother, and father to two children ages 3 and 5. His children grew up without a father.

Inmate #467481 poses a clear and present danger to society and must remain locked up for the entire life sentence. His disregard for law enforcement and the judicial system is evident in his criminal record.

Parole is a privilege and not a right. The inmate's history and the severity of this crime demand that he spend every remaining day of his life in prison. As a concerned citizen and in the interest of public safety, I again respectfully ask that you DENY PAROLE to inmate #467481.
