Reflections for K9 Aron

The First & The Last

The first to sense the hostility of a suspect,
The first to react to protect his master,
The first to enter where danger lurks,
The first to detect the hidden intruder.
The first to take action against violence.
The first to sense his master’s joy.
The first to know his master’s sorrow or fear.
The first to give his life in defense of his master.
The last to be forgotten by those who work with others like him.
They know him as a “Partner”, not just an animal.

Dear K9 Aron & your handler,
I'm very sorry to hear of your K9 partner's death due to a perfect storm: heat exposure and technology's failure.
Somehow, I am comforted by the thought that K9 Aron crossed the Rainbow Bridge and will meet my grandfather, Patrolman Leo W. Bajerski, End of Watch: 10/31/1933.

K9 Aron, Once again technology failed another hero. It is way too painful to think of your suffering. My heart (as well as others) is so heavy thinking about you. Hopefully, God will lessen the grief that your partner must be experiencing and let it be a life or death lesson to ALL fellow officers to be personally responsible for overseeing their K9's welfare and NOT leave it to chance! God allowed this to happen - may the price you paid pave the way for an eternity of joy you so well deserve. Let your partner, family and department know that you are well!

Rest In Peace K9 Aron. You were called home to Heaven way too soon. May there be plenty of toys and bones for you to play with and enjoy.

You are truly loved and are missed.

Lord God of unfailing love, to those families of our beloved nation, the United States of America, who are suffering in the wake of the loss of a Law Enforcement K-9 family member in the Line-of-Duty, help us to provide support. Allow us to be their rock and fortress in a time of immense pain and uncertainty. Help us to keep them safe and nourished in their time of grief, suffering beside them as we move toward healing and reconciliation. Lord God, in Your compassionate mercy, hear my prayer. Amen.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4 ESV]
