Reflections for K9 Kozmo

Prayers for the handler and the department. These K9’s become part the force. I know he will be missed greatly by his partner/handler. They become family in so many ways. My sons K9 is loved by us all even though our interaction is limited until he retires, he lives on the property with his partner. I can’t image what it’s like to loose your best friend and everyday working partner. Prayers for comfort and healing for the family as well. He died doing what he loved the most. Working. At least that’s my experience from these k9’s. May he fly high with the angels!

Lord God of unfailing love, to those families who are suffering in the wake of the loss of a Law Enforcement K-9 family member, help us to provide support. Allow us to be their rock and fortress in a time of immense pain and uncertainty. Help us to keep them safe and nourished in their time of grief, suffering beside them as we move toward healing and reconciliation. Lord, in Your mercy, hear my prayer. Amen.

K-9 Kozmo May God carry you home over that Rainbow Bridge. I saw on another post a comment that I believe is so true so I will share. When a Police or Military Working Dog crosses that Rainbow Bridge all playing stops. All the others gather at that Rainbow Bridge and welcome the Hero home out of respect. What a grand sight that will be. I know you are in the best of company. My thoughts and prayers with your handler/partner. God Speed Kozmo take care of my boys.

K-9 (in the line of duty) 02/24/2020

The day you became my partner was a nervous day for me,
Would I do you proud when you witnessed my abilities.
I gave my all for you and I always made sure to be ready to assist,
Ever so watchful of over you so that any sudden move I wouldn't miss.
You would talk to me everyday cause you knew I'd Iisten to your stories,
I would answer you with a bark or two to let you know you need not worry.
I swore an oath to always have your back everytime we were on patrol,
I extended my oath to duty as protector of the family I loved and adored.
Thru good times and scary moments we were there for each other,
To back up other units in time of need, for I was their K-9 Badge brother.
My only thoughts as I went in was to make sure I protect you,
The dangers we faced and the risk of getting hurt we both knew.
I have no regrets except that I won't be there for you anymore,
I gave my life so you could return to my family whom I love and adore.
Think of me but shed no tears as they lay your K-9 partner to rest,
When you get another K-9 brother to take my place and put him to the test.
I know that he too will sacrifice everything for you and family,
Having your back will be his priorty just like having yours was for me.
