To his handler I can not imagine how you feel at the loss of your partner/family but he showed bravery unmatched by so many with two legs. "To Protect And Serve" is just what you did. If an officer had made that approach he could well have been shot and even killed. Your love for your handler and for your job cost you your life, but you died in the line of duty doing what you had been trained to do; disable a murderer before he could kill again.
