I recently lost my best friend who was a Beagle. Beagles are the best breed (though some ill informed folks might disagree.) It's not easy to lose a friend who loves you no matter what, especially if you also WORK with that friend.

My heart goes out to his handler/partner/friend and I pray the Rainbow Bridge will see a happy reunion.

K9 Freckles:

Thank you for your law enforcement service to the citizens of the State of Florida and to the Florida Department of Corrections. Let us celebrate your accomplishments and remember your selfless sacrifice in the Line-of-Duty. However, death is not the end; it does not have the final say! Now, my furry Comrade-in-Blue, rest easy, we will take it from here! May the Lord God bless you, your family, your friends, and your colleagues always.

"Well done, good and faithful servant!" [Matthew 25:21 ESV]

Almighty God, the Florida Department of Corrections was fortunate to receive the gift of Freckles from You. Now that she has left this life, please help them cope with her loss with strength and courage. We know that this beloved canine hero no longer suffers, and will live on in the fond memories of her loyal and dedicated law enforcement service for which she was trained. We pray that her accomplishments and unconditional love have enriched the lives of others and that she will forever be remembered by all those who loved and cared for her. After all, DOG spelled backwards is GOD! Amen
