K9 Fritzie doesn't fault his handler and realized you did all you could after the accident. K9 Fritzie will be waiting for his handler someday to make up for those lost days. Until then Fritzie will be playing and eating some bones in heaven. Rest in peace K9 Fritzie.

IN MEMORY OF K9 FRITZIE

To the family, friends, and colleagues of K9 Fritzie:

From the beginning of time after Cain killed his brother, Abel, there has been a need for law enforcement officers to protect the weak and to bring evildoers to justice. This work is necessary in a sinful world and is dangerous. Thus far in 2015, four law enforcement canines have sacrificed their lives to protect their handlers and the citizens of this great nation. Today, we honor the sacrifice of K9 Fritzie, of the Bath, West Virginia, Police Department, who was killed in the line-of-duty on Thursday, March 12, 2015, as a result of a cruiser accident in which the patrol car she was riding in left the roadway and plunged into Sleepy Creek Channel in Bath, West Virginia, and submerged under water. K9 Fritzie’s handler was able to escape, however; K9 Fritzie drowned.

Lord God, we are grateful for the life of K9 Fritzie. She died serving us. Help us never to forget. Help us celebrate the life of K9 Fritzie and honor her sacrifice. Be with the family, friends, and colleagues of this fallen hero. Comfort them and give them your strength. Guide those who seek to take care of the family of this hero. May those empowered to do so, care for them with integrity. In commemorating the death of this hero, help those who mourn to remember that death is not the end. Death does not have the final say, but is simply the transition to the glorious life to come. Dogs do go to heaven! They should look forward to that life to come with joy and thanksgiving.

As for the citizens of Bath, West Virginia, help them to faithfully equip their law enforcement officers and canines with the best tools to protect their community. May their training be adequate to the task. Help the citizens of Bath, West Virginia, to remember to fund their law enforcement canine programs adequately and treat their canine heroes with respect. Help the citizens of Bath, West Virginia, to obey the law and treat each other with dignity so as not to add to the burden of crime and pain to their community.

The time for mourning will soon pass. We have now remembered and celebrated the life lost in this great tragedy. As the family, friends, and colleagues of K9 Fritzie go forward, they must celebrate the good things in their lives; and to celebrate life itself!

Finally, Lord God, we pray for the families, friends, and colleagues of all the law enforcement officers and canines who have been killed in the line-of-duty and we thank you for their sacrifices. Bless the lives of their families, friends, and colleagues so they might find healing. Help their law enforcement organizations support the families of these fallen heroes. Even though their deaths might have been senseless, make something good come out of these situations so that their law enforcement organizations and the communities in which they lived and served might be stronger because of their lives and their deaths. Amen.

Now, K9 Fritzie, may the Lord bless you, and keep you: the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you: the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. Amen.
Now, go and crossover the ‘Rainbow Bridge’ for there is much work to do against Satan and his demons!

Run free at the bridge Fritzie. What a terrible loss for all. My condolences to Fritzie's handler. Your brave effort and the efforts of your fellow officers to attempt to save Fritzie will always be remembered as a true heroic testament, and a tribute to your braveness and character as officers. Rest assured that you made all efforts to save her. God just had a different plan for her. Fritzie is not gone, Just gone ahead. She will always be in your heart. She lives there now. Feeling the sun on your face, The wind in the trees, Seeing that special very shining star at night, that gently bump on your leg, Know that it is Fritziie being there for you. In memory of K9 Atak Arnado.

“We who choose to surround ourselves
with lives even more temporary than our
own, live within a fragile circle;
easily and often breached.
Unable to accept its awful gaps,
we would still live no other way.
We cherish memory as the only
certain immortality, never fully
understanding the necessary plan.”
