My heart aches for this fallen K-9, Kye, and all others who have been killed. My sorrow extends to his human partner, others who knew and worked with him, family and friends. May the person who did this, be dealt punishment to the fullest extent of the law. So sad....Kye, you were, and will always be remembered as, a good, hardworking, and loyal boy.

This is so tough seeing a K-9 officer go down. K-9 officers give there all, no matter who, what, or where. It's 100% every shift! every day. I know how attached his or her partner is to there K-9, and that makes it all the more tough. I'm so glad the criminal was dispatched at the scene, end of story, no excuses or bleeding hearts for the criminal. If a criminal does that to an officer, imagine what he would do to the public.
My heart goes out to the handler and his family, this is just like losing anyone in a family, it hurts. Be proud, and rest in piece K-9 Kyl, you did a great job!!!! Thank you.

K9 Kye. Gallant Hearts breeds, raises and trains guide dogs for those who are blind and gives them free of charge. Our next German Shepherd litter is out of our female black shepherd, Dixie. Her best black male puppy will be named Kye in memory of his service and sacrifice. We will make certain that all who meet him will be told how he got his name. God bless his handler, family and co-workers and all those who choose to work in law enforcement.

Kye,
You are already missed by so many. You had not been on the department long but you were making yourself known. I will be forever grateful for all the buildings you searched for me and the times you backed me up.

Ryan,
Brother I will never understand why things like this happen. You were both an awesome team. I don't really know how many times you 2 may have saved me by just being there. Thanks for everything.

People say I'm "Just a Dog" then why would it be,
if you spell my name backwards god is what you see
I have many jobs, one is protecting your life
or making sure your family's safe
when that prowler is out at night.
My Partner calls me Family
My Prayers to K-9 Kye, and his Partner and To the Department. K-9 Kye, May you guard the doors of haven and watch over your Partner from above. Thank you for your service. For it is not just those with 2 legs who are born with a soul that has courage to wear a badge
