Dear Officer Stark and all members of the OKPD,

Please accept my sympathy for your loss. As the pet parents of three Great Danes, my husband and I understand the deep emotional bond between dogs and humans. K9Kye was a friend, a protector, and a valued public servant. He assisted Officer Stark in guarding society from those who prey upon it. It is so sad that Kye lost his life doing so. To Officer Stark - thank you for being there for Kye and for confronting the criminal who was a threat to all citizens and who fatally wounded your partner. You are a hero in our eyes!

To all of the OKPD officers and across the nation, it is with my deepest condolences on the loss of your partner. He inevitably paid the highest price to protect us from the evil that surrounds us every day. To Sgt. Ryan Stark, I cannot fathom what you are going through, but I cried when watching the memorial to honor your fallen hero. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your officers.

He will truly be missed and always remembered for his service to the OKPD.

Most dogs, even those who are treated badly, only see the good in people, and they serve the people they love without any regard for their own lives. People should take a lesson.

I am so sorry for both Kye and his human partner.

Having a breed like this is amazing. The love and companion ship with a handler and their K-9 is like nothing else in the world. But this particular breed just says devotion. That's obvious at what K-9 Kye did this day. Kye I know you sit at Gods side now. You are in great company I know. My prayers and respect to the handler and your family.
