Reflections for K9 Tanja

Saying the "holding accountable within criminal law" of a person who kills
a police dog as 'wacky' by a Georgia "Professor" tells me he is totally
uneducated to be a professor. It is a given that a human officer is of
infinite more value than a dog - reasonable people know that - but it is
not what is different that matters for a police dog killer to be held
accountable. What matters is what is the same - their status as a law
enforcement officer and the violence perpetrated against them.
The criminal would do to the officer/deputy/trooper what he did to the dog if he had the
opportunity and the dog did not stop him by sacrificing his own life to
save the handler/officer. They are partners together in the war on crime.
These dogs deserve protection in the law for serving for our freedom and
safety. The Georgia professor who said it is 'wacky' to do this is no
professor I would want teaching my grandchildren anything. Look in the
mirror Mr. 'Professor' - you seem to be the 'wacky' one there looking back
at you.
Rest and Play in peace K9 Tanja Walker Cunty Sheriffs Office Your life truly mattered. For a brief time you served; yet you gave youe all in saving the lives of your handler and other deputies. Now angels are singing for you. May your name be forever immortal as we give you our Honor and Memory. [email protected]

There was no mention in this story of whether the suspect was charged with the death of a police officer, which Tanja was. I hope that suspect is charged just as if Tanja was a human officer. Thank you for your service sweet girl. God Bless and Godspeed.

I am saddened by the loss of your brave and loyal K9. I live in Columbia County (Evans, GA), and my heartfelt condolence in the loss of 'one who served.' My paternal grandfather from Bibb County, GA. EOW was August 11, 1918, also by gunfire. All law enforcement deaths touch my heart bitterly.

God Bless 'all those' who serve in law enforcement.

Rest in peace Tanja,

You died bringing in a very vile human being, who does not deserve to walk the face of this earth.

Rapists, child-abusers and cop-killers are all garbage at the bottom of the swamp to me.

Rest in peace beautiful girl, have fun in heaven till we all meet up there.

Thank you, Tanja, for your sacrifice. You were beautiful, brave, and selfless and were taken way too early. You have made a greater contribution to society in your short 2 years than some people will ever make in their lifetimes! God bless your handler, may he recover quickly from the wounds he sustained both to his body from the weapon used against you both, and to his spirit from losing his partner. Now go play in heaven, sweet and brave girl, as you earned it!
