I met Deputy K9 Kilo this past year at Silver Creek Elementary School when he and his handler Nate visited the children. The kids at SCE all loved him.
I am grateful to all those who work in the police force and put themselves in harms way everyday.

Officer Kilo gave his life to protect his fellow officers. What a brave courageous soul. I pray one day for these amazing animals to have bullet proof vests to aid in their chances of surviving such a cowardly act. Kilo should not be considered just a tool for law enforcement, he was an Officer a Partner. My heart goes out to Kilo's Partner, may you find peace knowing Kilo is running free in Heaven, and will be waiting wagging his tail, ready to play when you meet again.....Good boy Kilo, Good boy....

Last year I was able to accompany the Indiana State Police as they eradicated marijuana from a field in Southern Indiana. While we were waiting to be escorted to the field, Sgt. Jerry Goodin was asked if Kilo would be on site. Jerry says, "Oh goodness, no. He'd be doing backflips with all the marijuana in this field." I always got a chuckle out of that.

Whenever we received a press release about a traffic stop that resulted in an arrest due to drugs, Kilo was almost always listed.

Rest easy, Kilo. Trooper Abbott, you served alongside one of the best!

You are all in our prayers.
