I am so sad you died. K9 officers shoulds be treated as a human officer should. I pray you are running and having fun with the ones who went before you. You are remembered with great respect. Thank you

God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain; but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way.

Rest in peace.

I truly and with all my heart view you no differently than any human, and my thoughts are with your agency, handler, community, family, and the countless friends that I am positive you had in life. It is with sincere personal saddness that I send my sympathies to K9 Ivan's Handler and family, and to the whole Tucsan Police Department. The loyalty of a K9 can never be matched. He will ride the wind!

I am so sorry for the loss of K9 Ivan. Wear your badge of courage well, my friend, on your journey through the stars to Rainbow Bridge. Kick up some star dust to send back Chief Roberto Villaseñor for the memories of your career and your valued life. I truly believe that shooting and/or killing a K9 Officer should be treated the same as any other officer in the law enforcement. Prayers coming for you and the apprehension of the guilty party and full prosecution.

K9 Ivan...
You sacrificed yourself without hesitation or reservation to protect your master and subdue the wicked. You and your assailant now both stand before the Great Master, you with eternal peace and favor, but the suspect quakes as he comes to understand the punishment he now faces.
Enjoy everlasting warmth and playfulness. Your toys are ever clean, your water always cool, your bowl perpetually full.
As a former handler, I understand what you meant to those you left behind. A fine creature you are.

Our department has a dog who is wonderful. It pains me to think we may have to send him in to protect a human officer. I know your loss being a pet parant myself with no human children.
All I know is God has one kick-ass K9 department!
Peace be upon your department.
