Jack

K9 Jack was shot and killed while attempting an apprehension during a barricade in the 1800 block of West 145th Street in Gardena.

The barricade started the previous morning after a man shot at a neighbor's car during a dispute. The man then remained barricaded inside his condo as negotiators attempted to communicate with him. K9 Jack was shot by the man as the agency's SWAT team entered the condo in an attempt to take him into custody. The man was shot and killed with deputies returned fire.
