K9 Red was struck and killed by a vehicle while searching for multiple burglary suspects.
During the search K9 Red's handler became stuck in mud and the two became separated. Red continued his search and was struck as he crossed a four lane road.
K9 Red had served with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office for one year.
