\n
\nOn April 1, 1983, Trooper Alexander was assisting other officers in stopping a stolen Blazer. As the trooper attempted to get in front of the suspect, the suspect swerved into Trooper Alexander's car, causing it to go into a ditch and then become airborne. \n
\nIt took rescue workers over 40 minutes to free Trooper Alexander from his patrol vehicle. He passed away from head and chest injuries at a Waco hospital 13 days later.
