 | Police Officer Fred Maddox Jr. Houston Police Department Texas Wednesday, February 24, 1954 |
Working on family tree and ran across Office Fred Maddox Jr. Turns out he is a 3rd cousin of mine. After reading his story I had to take the 250 mile drive to visit his grave site and it was worth the drive. We are proud to be able to say you are and will always be a member of our family in in our thoughts. Thanks for your service. Bobby Rowland 3rd cousin 2009-03-01

Officer Maddox, On today, the 54th anniversary of your murder, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Houston. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. It took another two years, but your murderer finally got the justice that he deserved.

My son TJ Maddox and my daughter Samantha Maddox are the children of Officer Maddox's unborn child at the time of his death (Fred's wife Louise was 7 months pregnant when he was killed)they had a son, named Fed Maddox, III. TJ is the spitting image of Fred and I only wish they could have had the opportunity to know and love eachother.
Officer Maddox's sacrifice will never be forgotten by myself and my children, his grandchildren. Kim mother of fred maddox's grandchildren 2007-08-03
