I am a great grandaughter of Doc Lefler (correct spelling). My grandmother, Claudia Lefler-Hopper-Biller was 11 when Doctor Pepper Lefler (her father) died. I have been told that he was named after Doctor Charles Pepper (I believe he was the doctor that assisted in his birth). The drink, Dr. Pepper was also named after Dr. Charles Pepper years later.
