Officer Leahy, On today, the 87th anniversary of your death, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice not just as a police officer but also for your service to our Country when you served with the U.S. Army in Europe during WW I.

Officer Leahy, we share a last name but I wonder if I could ever measure up to your heroics. Thanks to your efforts and determination, both of the slugs you encountered that day were brought to justice, one at your hands.
My Dad spent about 10 years working for the New York Central Railroad five of which were with the Police Department prior to moving on to my hometown's PD. His years with the RR were some of his happiest. It takes special people to be Railroad cops, and I can think of two Leahy's that fit that bill.
God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother. Ptl. Jim Leahy, Jr. Harvard University Police Dept. 2006-07-13
You are truly an example of never giving up and your sacrifice will not be forgotten. Rest in peace. Lt. Stephen Jackson Baton Rouge Police Dept. 2004-06-15
We will not let you be forgotten. Rest in peace, my brother. POMFCC 2004-03-09
