Bro:
Today, I added a pic of Your Memorial to my personal site, as well as to a site for present/former Tustin residents.
May You Rest-In-Peace.

TPD has been there for me for more than 25 years. I was there when the dedication was made with the statue erected in front of the renovated station that includes Officer Karp.
Officer Karp: Keep an eye on my Brother-a proud member of TPD and his coworkers. Maj M. B. Parlor USMC / LAPD 2008-01-07
YOU ARE REMEMBERED TODAY AND THANK YOU SIR FOR YOUR SERVICE VANDENBERGHE MANCHESTER, NH 2008-01-01
"The Badge" He starts his shift each day To respond to calls unknown. He drives a marked patrol car. A police officer he is known. He's paid by the citizens' taxes To make it safe on the streets. But he usually has a second job 'Cause a waitress has his salary beat. Now he doesn't know a holiday 'Cause he works all year round. And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive At his home he cannot be found. He's cursed and assaulted often, The one whos blood runs blue. He seldom ever gets a thanks, To some he's just a fool. His friends are always other cops 'Cause people just don't understand That underneath his badge and gun, He's just another man. He knows there might not be a tomorrow In this world of drugs and crime. And he gets so mad at the court system 'Cause the crooks don't get any time. And each day when he leaves for work, He prays to God above. Please bring me home after my shift So I can see the ones I love. But tonight he stops a speeding car, He's alone down this ole' highway. It's just a little traffic infraction. He does it everyday. Well, he walks up to the driver's window, And his badge is shining bright. He asked the guy for a driver's license, When a shot rang through the night. Yes, the bullet hit its mark, Striking the officer in the chest. But the Department's budget didn't buy Each officer a bullet-proof vest. So he lay on the ground bleeding. His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red. And briefly he thought of his loved ones 'Cause in a moment the officer was dead. In the news they told the story Of how this officer had died. And some who listened cared less, But those who loved him cried. Well, they buried him in uniform With his badge pinned on his chest. He even had his revolver, He died doing his best. Officer Karp, I've been with your department for less than a year and I have seen the memorial for you but never actually came here to find out how you died. I came from another agency who has lost four officers, two in the last 4 years, both friends of mine. Although I didn't know you, I know the heartbreak of losing a fellow officer and friend. It's sad that officers are not honored more when they are here and that most people don't realize the sacrifice they make for their community, until they are gone.
I was thinking of you today and of the sacrifice you made over thirty years ago. You have touched the lives of many, even people you never knew, even now, so many years later... God bless your family, those who have had to suffer your loss all these years... it never gets easier and my heart goes out to them.
Your sacrifice has not been in vain Officer Karp and I shall not forget you. Say hi to Tony and Dan for me, I look forward to meeting you one day! Shirl Tustin Police Department - Former OPD 2007-07-04

God bless you and your family. DE St. Louis City Police 2004-06-29
I wanted to tell you sir that I am the lucky man who married your step-daughter Katherine. I am sorry you were taken away from her so early, you would be so proud of her and your grandchildren! I wish I could have had the chance to meet you down here. I know you are in no more pain and are in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I promise to keep up the good fight until He returns or it's my End of Watch. We'll meet then! Officer Steve Ahearn Santa Ana Police Department
