Jerry Inman was my best friend, we went to school together and was very close. I found out about the shooting as I was returning home after a night of fishing, from my truck radio. Needless to say it shook me to the core. Jerry was in every way a gentleman, and a very close friend. I still miss him to this very day (07/15/09. Another Friend Bill Oliver, who spent time on the Green County Sherrifs Dept. His Grandfather Tony Oliver was killed in a shootout west of Springfield. My heart goes out to every family who has had a family member killed in action. AS well as our troops also.

As a young man of 23yrs. of age who grew up around the Springfield area,I remember that night well and the impact that it had on me.I have often wondered about Deputy Inman and his family in the past years.
May God Bless your memory and service Deputy Inman and your Familys sacrifice. You were and are sir what young and old alike can truly call a Hero.
