Wheels,
Got to thinking of you for some reason the other day. We didn't make great friends at Ferris, but I did have the opportunity to get to know you. Great conversationalist and softball player. Rest in peace, we'll take it from here. Det Kevin Kratz Buena Vista Twp Police 2008-03-21
Well today is your birthday. I wish you were here to enjoy it. It has been 13.5 years since you left us. I miss the talks we had, just to catch up. Reminicing about high school, football games (Ossineke Boys vs our older brothers and the townies from Alpena). Skiing , swimming at the beach and crusing around town in the "Tang." The parties we attended. The good times in collage and after you became an MSP Trooper. Thanks for being such an important part of my life! I will always treasure those great memories and past on to my kids how important it is to have a best friend who is always there for you in good times and bad. Your family and friends miss you and think of you often. As your spirit soars above and around us you will never be forgotten my friend. Curt 1-10-2008 Curtis Clark Best Friend 2008-01-10
Bryon, my Angel in Heaven,
I miss you so much every day. As one of your favorite holidays, Thanksgiving, has just gone by and Christmas is so close, it's still hard to get through these days. You always enjoyed all of the good food, family and of course, the gifts. I enjoyed doing this for you and waiting for you to come home to see your beautiful smile. As we prepare for the Project Blue Light, your presence is with us. You and your fellow officers will always be remembered as long as I am able to do it. Leslie misses her big brother very much. I know God is building his "Army of Angels" and he has the best. Your job was so important to you. I love you and have many great memories.

"The Badge" He starts his shift each day To respond to calls unknown. He drives a marked patrol car. A police officer he is known. He's paid by the citizens' taxes To make it safe on the streets. But he usually has a second job 'Cause a waitress has his salary beat. Now he doesn't know a holiday 'Cause he works all year round. And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive At his home he cannot be found. He's cursed and assaulted often, The one whos blood runs blue. He seldom ever gets a thanks, To some he's just a fool. His friends are always other cops 'Cause people just don't understand That underneath his badge and gun, He's just another man. He knows there might not be a tomorrow In this world of drugs and crime. And he gets so mad at the court system 'Cause the crooks don't get any time. And each day when he leaves for work, He prays to God above. Please bring me home after my shift So I can see the ones I love. But tonight he stops a speeding car, He's alone down this ole' highway. It's just a little traffic infraction. He does it everyday. Well, he walks up to the driver's window, And his badge is shining bright. He asked the guy for a driver's license, When a shot rang through the night. Yes, the bullet hit its mark, Striking the officer in the chest. But the Department's budget didn't buy Each officer a bullet-proof vest. So he lay on the ground bleeding. His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red. And briefly he thought of his loved ones 'Cause in a moment the officer was dead. In the news they told the story Of how this officer had died. And some who listened cared less, But those who loved him cried. Well, they buried him in uniform With his badge pinned on his chest. He even had his revolver, He died doing his best. My good friend. It seems everyday brings a memory of our times together. Little things. Seeing a red fastback. Hearing the word "junior". Batting gloves. Great memories. You're missed. Always will be. Terry Friend 2007-08-14

It has been twelve long years since we both partnered up that night for our last road patrol. I have moved on Bryon, but not without some lessons I learned from you, one being your favorite quote of being firm but fair at all cost. I have carried this wisdom into my new teaching world with me. Be assured, I think of you often and am proud to say I was there with you in the end. Tpr. Danielle "Elly" TeunionSmith Michigan State Police 2006-08-22
It's been over a decade since you left us and, rest assured, no one has forgotten you. We never will. Your memorial plaque rests in our lobby (next to Sgt. Bolen's) and always will. I never met you, but consider you my Brother. Rest in peace. Trooper MSP Richmond 2006-05-22

Hi Bry, Still think about your big smile and how everyone around you seemed to smile too.I sure miss you and how you loved your dog Caesar. Not a day goes by that I don't think about how your courage had kept everyone around you and on the roads safe. Thanks for the special memories and for the impact you made on my life being such a special friend. I often play your chosen song of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" to remind me of how special people like you are in our lives. It has been way too long my friend- Rest in peace- I will see you again, but not yet... Leah Leah Murray friend 2005-06-03
Bryon, it's been 9 years today, July 11, 2003, since you passed away. Unfortunately, I attended the funeral for one of your colleagues, today, Trooper Kevin Marshall. Kevin joined the Troops just one year after your departure.
I heard wonderful things about Kevin and I'm sure they applied equally to you, as they do to the MSP, in general.
I've always had pride in the Michigan State Police and always will. I've looked up to them since I was a small boy growing up in Detroit.
I remember my first days at the FBI Academy and the uncertainty of getting through it all. I was comforted during one of my classes on Tactical Emergency Vehicle Operations because the very first video we saw on Emergency/Pursuit Driving was produced by, none other than, the Michigan State Police.
Rest well and rest in peace. SA Darin L. Paul FBI Detroit
Bry- I think of you often and know you are keeping an eye on things down here. You were less a friend and more a brother to me, true-blue in your support and your competitive nature.
I miss the way we would try to out do one another, laugh & congratulate one another on our victories, and laugh harder at our defeats vowing nerver to lose again. I miss you calling me "Junior". You helped make college, the academy. and my first years in the MSP a real adventure.
It has been nine years today since you left us but I know your friendship is still here with me and I will see you again. With that memory of yours I know we'll have lots to talk and laugh about. Later Eagle !
Sgt. Therese Fogarty-Cremonte Michigan State Police
Rest in peace partner- it's been nine years since your passing and a day doesn't pass without me reflecting on the ole' days at the Ypsilanti Post where you were the ultimate "Road Warrior" and one hell of a friend and partner. "Les't we forget" Brother, I'll visit soon. D/Sgt. K. McPhee Michigan State Police- Lansing Post #11
I still remember the first time I met Bryon. I was 13 and worked at a party store in Kimball Twp. I only met him a few weeks prior to the accident. He seemed so full of life and proud to be a trooper in Michigan. I only spoke to him for a few moments that day. I told Bryon of my career decision to want to be a Trooper. He encouraged me and said "Hope to see you on the road someday, but first finish your school years." Bryon so far I am keeping my promise, I am in college getting my degree. I can only say I am sorry that you are gone. God Speed, keep heaven safe. Darrell Thompson St. Clair County Community College
We were classmates in college, and you fulfilled your dream of becoming a Trooper. You will be missed by many, god bless. Officer Ann Arbor Police
Had the pleasure of growing up with Brian in the Alpena, MI, area; hanging, partying, and playing baseball. Brian was a dedicated trooper and a genuine person. He loved to help people and throw the bad guys in the can. You're thought of often by your family, friends, and fellow officers and we all miss ya dearly. Trooper MichiganStatePlice
One hell of a good Trooper. Every time I hear "Knockin on Heavens door" by Guns and Roses I think of you Brian.
Take care, Steve N. Sgt. Steve Nowicki Michigan State Police
