My father clipped a picture of Oscar Hope from a newspaper shortly after he was shot. The caption says "Many are the stories told of the horsemanship of Detective Oscar Hope, who was killed in a gun battle... Saturday night. He was one of the best broncho busters in Texas. The accompanying photograph shows him on one of the first "mounties" to be used for downtown traffic work." Dad took the time to mount the clipping on card stock. He would have been 19 at the time. If anyone has info about Hope's family, I'd be interested in contacting them to see if there's a connection. Thanks, from a member of a Law Enforcement family.
