Your heroism and service is honored today, the 80th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

To those who have seen this page, I thank you for reviewing the story of my Great Grandfather's heroism. I am proud to be his Great Granddaughter and touched by your kind rememberances. I have in my possession a Tulare Officer's Uniform Pin that was his. I have tried to locate research information but due to the age of this incident and the time(1929),not much info is available. It is my sincere hope to visit Bakersfield and Visalia in the near future to do hands on research. Had I only known as a child that I would want to know all this information, I would have asked those who were alive to tell the story!

I believe I was directed to this website for a reason. I am confined to our home because of failing health and was beginning to think I had no purpose left on this earth. And, in a strange way, God say my depression and brought me to you. Now I collect angels in heaven who can pray for me as I pray for them. You see, our son recently lost his partner on a code call and this was our first experience loosing a hero while in the line of duty. Now I check this site daily and make sure to add all you special angels to my prayer list.

Thank you for your years of dedicated service. May your family find comfort and peace in God's mercy and grace. Rest well dear one. We love you.

I have been tracing a family legend and through this site found it to be true. Officer Luther W. Hogan is my Great Grandfather. Family members have a badge that is assumed to be his.
