Your sister[my grandmother) spoke of you many times as i was growing up. Her love for you was often felt. And i am very proud, to be a part of your family.

I didn't know until recently, but I know your youngest daughter, Sarah. She is so incredibly proud of you and it is so very sad that you were taken from her at such a young age. She has grown up to raise a beautiful family of her own and I know you watch over them daily. God bless you for your sacrifice. You are loved and missed by many. My father also was killed in the line of duty 5/15/1982. You have not been forgotten.

What an incredible history you have and what a sad ending that so many officers lost their lives to such scum.

You are a true hero, today you were remembered as you will continue to be and as it should be for all of the peacekeepers who give their lives protecting us.

Thank you sir.

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003).

We all grieve over the lives lost in the line of duty. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that there are countless prayers that go out for your family.

Marshal Batterson, you were a true hero. You will always be remembered.

These are senseless tragedies that never seem to stop. God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.

...Gone, but never Forgotten....
