Robert,

It's been a very long time since you and I talked last. I remember all of the times you would transport up tp Ft. Grant when I was working intake as an officer back in the 80's and I remember most the humor that you always had even when it had not been a pleasant day for you. Your sense of humor kept a lot of us going when we needed it and I miss that sense of humor now but I will always remeber you as I continue to go forward with all things and remember how you dealt with everything and hope that I can do the same.

I was a Sgt. the day we lost you. I had just spoken to you and your partner that morning at the Florence armory. A short time later I responded to the accident. It is hard to believe, even today, how fast time goes. I think of you and remember the sacrsfice you made and it gives me strength. Rest in Peace Officer Barchey. I know you are already aware of this, but they named a unit after you. I was proud to serve there as I am proud to have served with you.
