Officer Garcia was from my home town of Grants. He was ambushed and killed on duty, while I was ambushed and shot on duty also, but I survived. Patrolman Garcia, thank you for your service. What a terrible crime it was that needlessly took your life. Though the suspects were caught and punished here on Earth, they will still face another judge and jury. He is my grandfather and I am proud that people continue to remember him and the contribution(s) he made to his career and to his family. It is my understanding that being a State Police Officer was his life and his family has taken comfort in knowing that he died doing what he loved.
