 | Special Agent Norman G. Fowler Union Pacific Railroad Police Department Railroad Police Monday, August 29, 1932 |
Special Agent Fowler, today marks the 77th anniversary of your murder. You did your job and you did it to the very end. I find it tragic that your assailants were never caught. I hope they faced true justice at some point, if not in this life, then in the next.
Railroad Police are not as common as they once were. The women, and men such as yourself do a tough job protecting one of America’s most vital assets, it’s rail system but sheer economics has caused many railroads to rely on overburdened local police to handle that protection. I thank you for your efforts in the past and I thank your decedents for their efforts today.
God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother. Ptl. Jim Leahy, Jr. Harvard University Police Dept. 2009-08-29
