I went to palm beach high school with Jim. I lived down the street from he and his wife in 1962 and 1963. We had dinner at his house and they would come over to our house, He taught me how to make the best corn on the cob. He said to wait until the water boiled put the corn in the pot and cook for exactly three minutes. When he had his accident trying to help someone else, I walked out of the house and went to where my husband worked to tell him. we were both devastated. seeing his picture made me cry all over again. He was just a wonderful, caring person.
YOU ARE REMEMBERED TODAY AND THANK YOU SIR FOR YOUR SERVICE AND DEDICATION, YOU ARE A HERO JUST BY THE PROFESSION YOU CHOSE. Van Den Berghe Rest in peace, Sir! You are not forgotten. Police Officer Growing up I heard stories of your bravery from my great Uncle Lester (Your father in law). It was those stories and the look of pride in his eyes that led me into Law Enforcement. I hope that when my time as a Police Officer is over people speak of me with the same pride as Uncle Lester did of you. Thank you for your sacrafice. Master Police Officer John Winnett I never had a chance to meet you but my mother says we are a lot alike. I am proud to tell others of the legacy you left behind and I am proud that you are my grandfather and maybe some of the qualities that made you a great man and a hero, live on in me. Sgt. Darren Boggs Sergeant Fogleman, you are a true hero and will never be forgotten. Keep watch on your family and all those still on patrol. Robert Gordon, Asst. Chief, Retired Rest in peace. Ofc.
