Trooper Floyd,
On today, the 56th anniversary of your murder, I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state of Louisiana. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. I think it was a travesty of justice that your murderers were acquitted.

YOU ARE REMEMBERED TODAY AND THANK YOU SIR FOR YOUR SERVICE AND DEDICATION. YOU ARE A HERO JUST BY THE PROFESSION YOU CHOSE. THIS WRITER IS OF COURSE, DISAPPOINTED THAT JUSTICE WAS NOT SERVED ON YOUR BEHALF.

GOD BLESS YOU SIR AND ALL THOSE THAT LOVE YOU

Your picture is displayed in our home for your great grandchildren to admire. Although we never had the chance to meet you, we are very proud of you. Maybe one day justice will be served. May you rest in peace Grandfather...

Not that an officers death is anything less than tragic, but this is quite horrific and disturbing all the way around. With Trooper Floyd's son also being taken away to the suspects being acquitted, it is just simply tragic. You are a true hero sir and will always be remembered as such.

I was dismayed when I read this one on the LSP's homepage. Wonder why the guys got off? Could it have been some kind of good ole boy justice thing? Like the jury was bribed or something?

Anyway, Trooper Floyd Rest in peace sir!
