Rest in Peace, Officer Dimon. Your sacrifice is not forgotten. Officer 11169 I visited the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington DC. Thanks Uncle Herb for your contribution to this great country of ours. Michael Herbert Dimon Your heroism and service is honored today, the 50th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. I was glad to pay tribute to you today, but saddened by reading the reflections left by your daughters and see the loss they suffered. My grandson Cody was born 2 1/2 months after my son was fatally shot, and I know he will always feel the same loss your daughters experienced. Anonymous YOU ARE REMEMBERED TODAY AND THANK YOU SIR FOR YOUR SERVICE Pat Van Den Berghe Herbert was remembered with his tall form, his beautiful blue eyes and quick smile. He loved both of his daughters, his brother, and Mother and Father very much. He was missed very much by all of his family and friends of our family. He was a generous person. Herbert was a wonderful father. His daughters lost a important part of their life when he was prematurely taken away from us. May God bless and keep him.
My very last memory of my Father in this lifetime was the weekend of his death. He was not suppose to work. We were moving into our new house my Father bought. He worked for another Officier. My Father had given my a puppy before he left to go to work. He pushed me and Cindy (my new puppy) on my swing set and told me he loved me, gave me a hug and tickled me. Then he walked away. This is for the Policemen and women who are curious or knew my Father. My Father had 2 brothers, not one. His brother Val lived in Japan where he was born. Upon my Father's death my Father's Mother took me and herself to live with her other son Val in Japan. We lived there for 8 years or more. To every Officier out there, think about what you are doing very carefuly, make sure to let everyone close to you know how much you love them every time you leave to work. Tania Diane Dimon I missed you so terribly much in my life. You have two Great Grandchildren who are GREAT kids. Anthony Arthur Herbert Dimon Apodaca and Cheri Tania Catherine Dimon Apodaca. Ofcourse my son has your name inside his name and in rememberance of your first wife who died I named your first Granddaughter Cheri Tania "Catherine" for your second daughter.
