Trooper George Richard Dancy,
You were a young guy and surely pround to have attained the position of trooper. Unfortunalely, like all of us who patrol the highways, the motor vehicle is a threat we rarely contemplate will be our enemy. A sign over the exit when leaving Fort Meade, Maryland says: "You are entering the most dangerous battlefield of all - a United States highway." So this is our lot -- to face many enemies. You have met the enemy. Died on duty. That makes you a hero. Another saying is: "True heroism is not the urge to supress all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever the cost." You have served others. Well done, trooper...well done. Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.) Pennsylvania State Police 2008-08-13
