Jimmy I have a computer, when we were little we had things that were much better Anonymous I was employed by the Gadsden County S.O. working in the Jail the day that this incident happened, I still remember the way the air left my body as I heard the news of Trooper Fulfords death. When they brought the suspects responsible for his death into our facility, it was a very chilling experience. I will never forget the way Sheriff Woodham spoke about this Trooper, it has left a life long effect on me. To the family of Trooper Fulford I say, may God watch over you and keep your family safe. A.C. Beach Senior Officer I went to school with the twins. Timmy was the tall mischevious one and Jimmy was the skinny baby-faced sweet one. He grew into a fine young man. I remember Mrs Fulford was a teacher in Greenville. If memory serves me correctly after 40 years, they called their grandmother Nanna. This boy wanted to be a law enforcement officer since he was in first grade, maybe before. I understand he was an asset to his agency and to my great home state of Florida. RIP, Jimmy. You did your time and you ended your watch doing what you were always meant to do. Sherri McHargue. Sherri McHargue Cheng Thank God for Tropper James H. Fulford. I was a patient of KeithAnn's and a native of Jefferson County. As James looks down from Heaven he can truly say, "May the work I've done, speak for me." Anonymous It's been over 4 years since I left my last reflection on your page. I am now closer than ever to becoming a law enforcement officer, and I know you are watching over me and guiding me along the path. Thank you and God Bless you. Detention Deputy K. Johnson YOU ARE REMEMBERED TODAY AND THANK YOU SIR FOR YOUR SERVICE, YOU ARE A HERO JUST BY THE PROFESSION YOU CHOSE Pat Van Den Berghe "The Badge" Investigator David L Bell Friends,,, I had the honor of going to junior college with Jimmy and to call him a friend. He drove a white Ford Fairlane and was proud of it. His dream was to be a Florida State Trooper. Folks, you could not have a better friend than JIMMY. Miss him we shall,,,,, but I can tell you one thing for sure,,, there is no speeding in Heaven as Officer Furlord is watching over the Lord's Highways. Dr. Mikel Tuten, PharmD My thoughts and prayers are with Trooper Fulford's family, friends and co-workers. He sounded like a great guy! 911 Dispatcher "Hello Mamma!" I can still hear your voice and see your smile, Jimmy. I was 8 months expecting my and Trooper Mike Grissom's second child, Holly when we were transferred to Jefferson County in 1985. Strangely enough, the name Mike and I picked out for this child was Ashley Marie, but KeithAnn and Jimmy had a two year old named exactly that, so she became Holly. Mike and Jimmy instantly became best friends. They coached our sons, Will and James Herbert in t-ball and we enjoyed many cook-outs, special occasions and just "time together." They were our special friends. Mike and Jimmy had matching boats to take their boys fishing. It was only last year that Mike could sell his boat, some 13 years. I guess it was a way to keep a part of Jimmy close. Our Will was 12 when I told him the news of Jimmy's death. (James Herbert, Will's best friend was only 11) Annette Grissom We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Trooper Fulford and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Trooper Fulford has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure. SA Thomas Doyle Something led me to Jimmy's page here today. My husband is his cousin. All day today, I knew something was special.....it's been 15 years. Hard to believe. The children were very small when Jimmy died. Now, they are beautiful young people who contribute daily to the world they live in. I am sure Jimmy is proud....and yes, I am sure he knows how much we all miss him. We all love you, and miss you, Jimmy. Your legacy will always live. Lori Davies I come to ODMP often to visit my husbands reflection page, but I also take time to visit other officers reflecton pages as well. Today I came across yours. Ironically, I work with brave men who put their life on the line every day regarding the situation you encountered. You were a brave hero Tpr. Fulford. Thank you for your service and dedication to public safety. Jennifer Aaron Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family, friends and all the members of the Florida Highway Patrol. We were made safer by his service and we all suffer their tragic loss. The family of Trooper Fulford deserves our appreciation and gratitude for their sacrifice. No greater love has a man than the will to give his life for another. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Trooper Fulford is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Thomas Doyle Thank you for your ultimate sacrifice. We are proud of you. Sandi Parrott It's not how Jimmy died that made him a Hero, it's how he lived!
I knew Trooper Fulford when I was attending FSU studying pre-med. I was a paramedic in Jefferson County and knew this family. I think and pray for them often as he was a remarkable man that left a huge impression on my life. Thank you Trooper Fulford You're greatly missed B. Murray (one of the twins) Bruce H. Murray MD This was a extraordinary man, I was at the FHP academy with him. Jimmy you are missed every day. The bomb that he found was en route to a apt. complex where many Innocent people would have died but for Jimmy's action's X-Trooper I served with Jimmy Fulford in Jefferson County Florida and knew his entire family. I remember Jimmy loving to hunt and was very successful at the sport. I also remember how much he loved his family and the fact that he was a devoute christian. Trooper Darrell E. Burnham (RET) I think of Jimmy every year at this time, and throughout the year as well. James Herbert III reminds me so much of his dad. Kristy Over the past 13 years I have been reminded in some way every day of the extraordinary person that my "Father" was; whether it has come from an old story or a memory of my own, they all relate to the same thing. I hear new stories all the time and it is such an honor(one that I could never expalin with words) knowing that this man was my father. Even though he is not physically here to lead me away from wrong, I can promise with all my heart that when I do stray from right , something deep inside lets me know; and I know that its "Him":):) There are no words to express my appreciation to those who have prayed for our family over the years. If every officer today served his community the way he did we would live in a better world.
I heard stories of Trooper Fulford helping stranded motorists on the Interstate. The help that he gave them went WAY beyond what one would expect. He was a God-fearing man and it was obvious from the way he lived his life. If he didn't go to heaven, none of us will. He made a difference in the lives of many while he was here. Thankyou Trooper Fulford. State Trooper Trooper Fulford was a fine man, citizen and trooper... died doing what he did best, protecting citizens of Jefferson County and the State of Florida... Since that tragic day that God has called you that your job was well done. Rest in peace Trooper. You're still greatly missed by the folks of Jefferson County and the Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Jason S. Turner Rest in peace troop, your watch is over, but ours continues. You are not forgotten. Senior Trooper Gone but not forgotten. My wife and I think of you often, she was a friend of your family (Connie Seals Scott). Capt. Dennis Ballek
