I attended the Ohio State Highway Patrol's memorial service for the first time this past May and was moved by the dedication the Patrol has for remembering it's fallen officers. I was also greatly moved by the number of family members who come back year after year to honor their loved ones...some who have died over 50 years ago. Becky Muncy, widow of Sgt. Marc Muncy My Grandfather was one of the founding members of the Ohio State Patrol, along with Colonel White. He operated the earliest training camps for the Patrol. Having been a pilot in WWI, he was also an early advocate of aerial observation for the Patrol. After a power struggle over the direction and use of the Patrol, he was demoted to Patrolman. He died there within a short time, when my father was twelve. He was extremely proud of the Patrol. diane bushong jaquish I am sorry I never had the opportunity to meet you. Thank you for your service and God Bless You. Leah Bushong Humphrey To my "brother" in Ohio's "Long Gray Line", thank you for your service Former Trooper Thank you for your service and dedication Patrolman Bushong. It saddens me to think that you have been forgotten by not only your department and its personnel but also by the community in which you served. Please know that your ultimate sacrifice is the final measure of your devotion to duty........... Officer Terry
