Castelhano God Speed Brother see you on the High Side. Detective Shane Parrott Youa are in my prayers. Ofc. Coffman #15174 I saw pictures of your wife and kids the day of your funeral and as expected, they were visibly distraught. There will be days in the future when they will remember you and have all good things to say. Someone may even tell them about this site, and for them to read the reflections left by so many. My message to them is simple, your husband and father, was just that. He was a great husband and father, first and foremost. The reason why he was able to work in the profession he enjoyed for so long was because he had the love and support of his family. Take comfort in knowing that Police Officer Glen Ciano lived a happy life because of you. While it's nice to read all of the great things his fellow law enforcement personnel has to say about him, nothing can compare to what Glen had with his wife and kids. RIP Officer Ciano - You were a great man! Lt Sal Accardi I am saddened like all of us that this has happened. Growing up in Smithtown Long Island and working as an officer in a village on the north shore, I worked with and became friends with many SCPD Officers. This life was taken because a drunk ( who should have not been driving because of a prior DUI ) was operating a car...Intoxicated again. Now this Officer leaves a family. This is a sad sad incident. The drunk should be charged and put away for LIFE PO Steven Daniello The wicked flee where no man pursueth, but the righteous are bold as a lion K.L. Standing with my fellow officers the other day in front of the church I noticed something. There were thousands upon thousands of officers in the street, dressed sharply standing to pay final respect. I marveled how a simple verbal command of "Ten hut!" Could bring a crowd of thousands to instant silence and attention, where else can crowd control be so effective and sharp? During the brief "At ease" intermission I saw thousands of other officers around me, laughing, hugging, sharing old stories and better times. Then I looked to my left and I see a group of officers with patches on their arms representing all different agencies, and their faces of different races. Then it struck me for real how much our law enforcement community is truly a family. We may come from different states, different departments, and different races but we are all Blue! I'm sure Glen was looking down that day enjoying the old stories, seeing those we only get to see on these sad occasions. while a police funeral is a sad occasion it is also a reminder how we are part of one very close family. Those that knew Glen personally such as myself also knew that he really was all those amazing things people said to describe him. He was what every police officer should strive to be, a great role model, a father, a husband. Just an all around great guy! Anonymous Rest in peace, your service and sacrafice will not be forgotten!
