Officer Sanders,

I had the honor of speaking with and driving around a fellow officer of yours during Police Week and he was a great guy. I spoke briefly to him and his wife, and I know God will comfort them during this difficult time. You are not forgotten sir! Rest in Peace...

I never had the privilege of meeting Ofc Sanders, but as a current police officer and former Marine myself, I feel I can speak for his character. Joseph was a member of two very special fraternities, the US Marine Corps & public law enforcement. As a Marine recruit years ago, I was told "Marines never die, they will live on forever in the name of the Corps". The same is true in law enforcement. To Joseph's family & friends; take comfort in knowing that every time you hear the Marine Corps hymn, see a police car glide by on patrol or streak past with lights & siren going to an emergency run.....Joseph is there! He will live forever thru the lives of those he touched and all who wear a badge.

As I take a breathe into the sadness of the GoogleNews...I go within for my appreciation of those who choose to serve and wear the uniform. It is a passion of love that the Soul cannot deny. This lose 'to serve' reflects how so many speed through life unconsciously without being aware of each moment. I have always respected the uniforms that serve. As the grief process comes, may all remember that...Love Is The Answer. Love Is The Only Answer. Thank you 'GI Joe'
