its been a year and i cant believe your gone it seems like someone has played a cruel joke , i saw your dad at the bar ands reintroduced myself and all he could say wasnt your dad and uncle fighting at one our football games when we were 13 , crazy how time passes . you will always be remember as a strong tough person and i always looked up to you, i know we havent spoke since we were younger but i always considered you as my friend....your a hero... rest in peace friend you will be missed....

To have lost you is a great tragedy, an irreplaceable, immeasurable loss for society. We are grateful for and to you, and honor you for all you did for us day in and day out whether you received a word of thanks or praise.

Rest in Peace, Sgt. McDonald I am so humbled by your valor and courage.

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Every time I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the man they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Sergeant McDonald. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. (The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. I can also be found on Face Book.) You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Patrick, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Patrick's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Patrick's life was about so much more than the way he died. Patrick will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Sergeant McDonald, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been almost seven years but he's still very much missed and forever loved.

It is very upsetting to see the disrespect and disregard of such a great officer, such as Sgt. Patrick McDonald. There will always be a time that I will reflect on the sacrifices he made for the city of Philadelphia. My mother is an officer in the nj prison system, and it takes a strong and dedicated person to serve in such a dangerous profession. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and colleagues. My Dearest Family and Friends

Somethings I'd like to say but first of all to let you know that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from Heaven where I dwell with Our Lord above. where there's no more tears or sadness just eternal Love. Please don't be unhappy because I'm out of sight, remember that I'm with you every morning,noon and Night.

The Day I had to leave you when my Life on earth was through God picked me up and hugged me and He said I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again, You were missed while you were gone. As for your Dearest Family they'll be here later on.
I need you here so badly as part of my big plan. Theres so much we have to do to help our Moral Man.
Then God gave me a list of things that He wished for me to do, and foremost on that list of mine is to watch and care for you.
I'll be beside you everyday and through out the years, And when your sad. I'm standing there to wipe away your tears.
When You lie in bed at night the day's chores put to flight God and I are close you in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on Earth and all the loving years, because your only human they are bound to bring you tears.

Sergeant Patrick McDonald ala contemporary Jesus Christ.

I've often struggled with why anyone would enter the ghetto and put his life on the line. It's so incredibly dangerous, and frankly, feels like it's not for much.

Through his actions, Sergeant McDonald showed me why the extraordiary do such grevious things. Sergeant McDonald laid his life on the line for a criminal's sins. Just as Jesus Christ did. And because he did so, he paid the ultimate price.

I've believed in God, but not Christ, as I was not convinced that anyone would die for another's sins. The day before 9/23/08 I had a dream. In this dream I witnessed an officer in pursuit of a thug. When the officer caught up to the thug the thug opened fire, BANG! BANG! I woke up from my dream. Then I saw the story covering this tragedy on TV the following day. From there I was made a believer in Christ because of Sergeant McDonald. In my heart it all just kinda came together from there. I can now see and feel that Christ is there, that he does exist.

Hey Pat, we just finished your benefit at Cannstatters on Saturday. What a great turn out. Your Dad, Mom and Sister were overwhelmed by the show of support they rec'd from the dept and the community. I spoke with your Dad and I can tell you he is one of the strongest men I have ever met. He is keeping your memory alive and his eyes light up when someone refers to you as Sergeant. You earned it brother. You are a true hero. God bless you and your family....You will never be forgotten.
