Officer Widman, rest in peace brother. Your loved ones remain in our thoughts and prayers. Deputy Early this morning, it’s been a year since you have been unfairly taken from your beloved family and many people who loved and treasured your friendship. You have touched a countless number lives in your short-lived 30 years; some lives, you don’t even know you touch – mine included. May God continue to Bless your magnificent family, friends, and the entire FMPD community. FMPD #413 – Gone… but NEVER forgotten. DRL On this day we remember. Thank you for your servants heart. Jerry To Officer Andrew Allen Widman, his family and his fellow officers with the Fort Myers Police Department: Wives Behind The Badge, Inc We all miss you so much Andy. I could repeat what your other friend's have said about how incredibly Susanna has come through this, or about your children and how much of you is reflected in their faces and their individual personalities, but what I keep thinking about today is how you are a constant reminder to me that a life lived wholly open to God is a successful life--even when its not fitting into the plan WE had for it. Jeremiah 29:11. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Roxanne daCorte I was in Washington DC all last week with your family for LEO week. Seeing your name on the wall, brings back the emotions. It really hits home since I have three children as well. It makes me and everyone else realize that family comes first. When I graduated from the academy, a good friend told me "God,Family then the Job" . Your family is doing OK. They all know that your looking down over them. Anonymous Happy Birthday! Robert Margrander Andy, You know Andy, Deputy Robert Margrander The wicked flee where no man pursueth, but the righteous are as bold as a lion. K.L. Just wanting to say to the Widman family you are in my prayers. I was on patrol that night. I will never forget that night. I visit this web sight often. Just to reflect and honor the heros/ fallen brothers and sisters. I have lost a cousin in the line of duty (Orlando PD). Time moves on but we will never forget. God Bless. RP Sylvia turned one this week and I wish you could have been here. She took four steps on her birthday and she was so proud. She had to stop walking just to clap about it. You were a great Father to our kids. You loved them just because they were yours and you were so proud. I miss you every day. I can't seem to match your zest for life, your quiet confidence, your strength. There is so much I will never understand, but that's okay with me. You taught me that you don't always need to understand, that's it's foolish to think we can anyway. There is a tension in me between joy and sadness, but I'm realizing that it doesn't always have to be one or the other. I am happy about so many things. I am blessed. You would be proud, and a little disbelieving I think, of all the law enforcement officers and people in the community who have helped me and will continue to help. I know you can see us from Heaven. I hope you are peaceful and joyful. Don't worry about us, we'll always remember you. Susanna Widman i got to play with, wrestle, and tape the mouth of a 13 foot gator the other day. I could picture you laughing yourself hysterically watching me play with this thing and help the backwoods gator hunter guy wrestle it out of the canal! SF May God lay his healing hand upon the family and friends of Officer Widman and may they know he will never be forgotten. Thank you Officer Widman for your dedicated service to the people of Florida and the United States. James Sheppard My prayers and thoughts go out to the Widman family, the family of the Ft. Myers Police Dept. and all Law Enforcement. Officer Widman's death touched the community as a whole. The outpouring of the community was unprecedented. Donna Tomassoni I just happened to review your department's site, to find a phone number when I stumbled onto the above story. I have been with my agnecy for 23 years, and have two children of my own. The pain in my heart from looking at Andrew's photo will be with me throughout the day, but his memory will stay forever. Gods Speed my brother. Det. Scott C. Park To those who loved Officer Widman, my heart goes to you all. Know that you're not alone in this journey you walk. I lost my fiance in the line of duty January 2003 and my world was forever changed. It's been a long hard road, and even as time as gone forward, and I've found many reasons and ways to smile, I still have not forgotten the man that he was. Dennis was a beautiful person and he forever has a part of my heart, just as I'm sure Andrew will always be a part of yours. Jocelyne Brar (Winnipeg, MB Canada) To the family and friends of Officer Andrew Widman and to his fellow officers, and most especially to Andrew: Phyllis Loya REST IN PEACE, BROTHER. F. OFCR WINSLOW Keep watch over your loved ones who struggle to face each day as it dawns without you. You are a true hero and will never be forgotten. Bob Gordon Thank you for your service. Ofc. S.L. Coffman #15174 Dear Family, Friends, and Co-Workers of Police Officer Andrew Widman, Anonymous My thoughts & prayers are with you. Rest Easy. Cindy, Arkansas I never knew you, but there is no doubt that you were a great officer, father and husband. To read the stories above about your work ethic and moral conduct, makes me realize even more how unique a profession police work is these days. Your family can hold up their heads high, brother, because you did it right... and made all of us in uniform proud. Corporal Rob Colwell Rest in peace, brother. Deputy First Class Ryan Clifton
