I am dismayed that the county you worked for is insisting that the words you wrote to your parents on the first day of the job be removed from your memorial. I called the County Administrator and two supervisors to express my outrage. Surely there must be some law firm in Wisconsin who represents officers and police associations who would be willing to mount a pro bono legal challenge to their decision. Phyllis Loya "HERO" Former Traffic Officer S. Parker Remembering Office Zunker this evening after watching the candlelight vigil in Washington D.C. on the webcast. Watching it brought back the pain, numbness and grief we felt when we were there 6 years ago for our daughter Melissa (EOW 8/1/02 Mpls PD) We keep Jason, his wife, parents, family and fellow officers in our thoughts and prayers. May you find comfort in memories and knowing Jason was a hero, who was doing his job, to protect the public. Now he is patroling the roads in heaven. God Bless! Steve & Carole Schmidt Just stopped by to check the postings. To Jason, his family and Lisa and her family, WE NEVER FORGET. I continue to pray for and think of you from time to time. Be well with God and Lisa know that Jason is with HIM. Jason is watching out for you. Nate Gallagher The wicked flee where no man pursueth, but the righteous are bold as a lion K.L. Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten. Know that you're not alone in this journey you walk. I lost my fiance in the line of duty January 2003 and my world was forever changed. Even as time as gone forward, and I've found many reasons and ways to smile, I still have not forgotten the man that he was. AC Trooper “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” John 15:13 Sergeant Rick Towell My heart goes out to the Zunker family! May God Bless you and keep you strong! Dana We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Deputy Zunker and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Deputy Zunker has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure. Special Agent TPD May God be with the family, friends and Dept. of Deputy Zunker during their time of bereavement. It's always tragic to lose a loved one unexpectantly like this. God Bless you my brother in Law Enforcement. Now gear up and grab a beat in Heaven we'll see you soon. Patrol Officer V. B. Arceneaux 239 Dep.
