My Honey,
I love you so much. You are a loving man, husband, daddy, and my soul mate. We had a special relationship, one like no other. The two of us were truly one. Even after being married for ten years, it felt like we were always on our honeymoon.
I am truly blessed for the time that we shared together although I will never understand why it was cut short. You always made me laugh. We never had a dull moment together because you made sure that we lived life to the fullest.
I miss you so much. I will always treasure you and all that you did for our family. I still call your cell phone, just to hear your voice.
I am and will always be proud of you.

Frankie,

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining. Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, and at times my talk was rough, and sometimes I've been violent, Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep.... Though I worked a lot of overtime When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place Among the people here. They never wanted me around Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne Where the saints had often trod. As the policeman waited quietly, For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman, You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell."
Love and miss you. Former POI D.M. Zaragoza, 38th Cycle Dave Zaragoza Former Co-Worker Guam Police 2008-01-16
It has been an honor to have worked with Smitty.
He loved his job and was passionate about what he did, he was a great mentor and teacher. He had a goofy sense of humor but he was a sincere friend.
We all struggle each day to understand why he was called home so early, but, to those whose lives that he has touched, he will always be remembered.

Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses It's you and the roses
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow Heal me from all this sorrow As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes Now I'm living in your afterglow
Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow? In between the longing to hold you again I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control My mind drifts away, we only have today
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow Heal me from all this sorrow As I let you go I will find my way I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes Now I'm living in your afterglow
When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow Heal me from all this sorrow As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice Now I'm living in your afterglow
