Hey Michelle, I have moved on from FWC. You were my "inside" friend from the very start. Thanks so much. I am so sorry you were hurt, I still cry when I think of you out there without help. Thank you my sister for your work. BLM37 S. Waggoner Friend 2009-11-02
Michelle, Just thinking about you today. I know your family still misses you like crazy just as I still miss my husband. I just think there is a bond between you and my husband because God took you both home in the same way. God bless you sweet Michelle. As this weekend rolls around and they have the National Police Officers Memorial, that is where I met your partner last year. I know she thinks of you every day but just know our family is thinking of you too. Chris Winget Wife of Ofcr. Robert Winget EOW 4-10-07 2009-05-15

Debbie, May God bless you as you go through each day without Michelle. I like to think that she and my husband are in heaven trading stories. Thank you for your thoughts you posted. It was nice connecting with you in Washington. We do have much in common in that we lost the ones who had that very most special place in our hearts. I know that in the past year there has been a lot of healing to get me as far as I have come. I hope that when October rolls around you might feel that some of your hurt has healed since that day you lost Michelle. Our lives will never be the same but know you have a friend in California that cares for you and Michelle's family. God Bless you all, Chris Winget, Wife of Ofcr Robert Winget EOW 7-10-07 Chris Winget Wife of Ofcr Robert Winget 2008-07-17

"The Badge" He starts his shift each day To respond to calls unknown. He drives a marked patrol car. A police officer he is known. He's paid by the citizens' taxes To make it safe on the streets. But he usually has a second job 'Cause a waitress has his salary beat. Now he doesn't know a holiday 'Cause he works all year round. And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive At his home he cannot be found. He's cursed and assaulted often, The one whos blood runs blue. He seldom ever gets a thanks, To some he's just a fool. His friends are always other cops 'Cause people just don't understand That underneath his badge and gun, He's just another man. He knows there might not be a tomorrow In this world of drugs and crime. And he gets so mad at the court system 'Cause the crooks don't get any time. And each day when he leaves for work, He prays to God above. Please bring me home after my shift So I can see the ones I love. But tonight he stops a speeding car, He's alone down this ole' highway. It's just a little traffic infraction. He does it everyday. Well, he walks up to the driver's window, And his badge is shining bright. He asked the guy for a driver's license, When a shot rang through the night. Yes, the bullet hit its mark, Striking the officer in the chest. But the Department's budget didn't buy Each officer a bullet-proof vest. So he lay on the ground bleeding. His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red. And briefly he thought of his loved ones 'Cause in a moment the officer was dead. In the news they told the story Of how this officer had died. And some who listened cared less, But those who loved him cried. Well, they buried him in uniform With his badge pinned on his chest. He even had his revolver, He died doing his best. To all who have written,
Thank you so much for your condolences...yes Michelle was indeed a very special person, she lived in the moment not in the past or in the future but the very moment she was with YOU! I am grieving so deeply her loss as she was my partner in life. I am desparately trying to find the strength needed as I miss her terribly... I hope to establish a foundation or an annual event that will carry on her passion for raising awareness about our environment and how each of us can contribute in our own way to make a difference. thank you again to all for your words of kindness...
