The picture of Paul is so fitting. It is that same smile that all of us remember when we think of the brief time Paul was with us. To his family thank you for sharing your brother, son, and loved one with us.

Gods Police department received an outstanding and dedicated officer with your transfer to His department. We know you are with all our heroic and honorable brothers and sisters who have also paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting Gods children in our great city. Your excellence in your performance, your dignity in service, your honorable impact on our citizens and your integrity will serve as models for all who follow in our ranks. Jesus loves your great smile as odes all who knew you.

I know it's been a while since you left but I just now found the page for ya. Sad to see that you are gone you always brought so much joy and happiness to everyone that you came in contact with. You always had a joke or something silly to do to make someone laugh. Sad to know you're gone. Love ya man.

It has been 2 years, but I never saw your page until tonite. What gleaming eyes and beaming smile! So
sad to think of the promise that your future held that you
will never experience on this earth. My heart goes out
to your families and fiancee. I just finished reading
It's All About Him by Denise Jackson. She shares how
the Lord Jesus helped her through many tragedies in
her life. We do desperately need Him and I hope you
can find comfort in a relationship with Him. God bless
you. Thank you for your zest for life and for serving, Paul. We really regret your sacrifice. But it really wasn't
in vain if others are alive because of you.

Hi Paul,
There isn't a day that goes by where I don't think of you :) Sometimes it is the most random ways...those are the best! It seems like I miss you more and more as time goes by. This is the hardest part of the year to go through. I love you and know that you are still here when we need you, just like you were before! Love you! XOXO

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

Officer Salmon

I just saw the news story of the little boy who received your heart. It is always such a miracle to see these stories. This one especially because this little boy knows he lives on with the “heart of a hero”. What a legacy!

You live on in so many ways in other’s hearts. I recently met your lovely mom and fiancé as they accepted an award in your honor. I could see the pain on their faces but also that loving glow as they spoke of you.
God bless you Paul and continue to watch over those who love and miss you…

ASCENSION

And if I go,
While you’re still here---
Know that I live on,
Vibrating to a different measure
--behind a thin veil you cannot see through.
You will not see me,
So you must have faith.
I wait for the time when we can soar together again,
--both aware of each other.
Until then, live your life to its fullest.
And when you need me,
Just whisper my name in your heart,
…I will be there.

By Colleen Corah Hitchcock

Paul is always with you, in your heart and in spirit. Talk to him, it’s OK.
