David- Just thinking of you. I really miss you. For some reason I can't get rid of that habbit of looking at an officer on the freeway and wondering if it's you...I miss you. Love- Karla Karla Marin Luna Cousin 2009-09-22
Dave, there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of you. I miss you so much! You were one of my best friends. I thought as time passed it would get easier, but it doesn't...It makes me miss you more. I miss your laugh, smile, and mean jokes ;) Anonymous

Thinking of you and all your loved ones today. So many lives and dreams destroyed by a person who didn't care about others and decided to drive a vehicle while impaired. You have not been forgotten nor will that ever be the case. Continue to keep watch over all of your loved ones and protect them from harm. Bob Gordon Father of Chicago Officer: Michael P. Gordon. Today, I saw the photograhs of that traffic collision for the first time. Seeing Your helmet that was knocked off of You, with the chin strap still attached gives, an idea of how severe the impact must have been.
May You Rest - In - Peace. Maj M. B. Parlor USMC/LAPD 2008-04-23
"The Badge" He starts his shift each day To respond to calls unknown. He drives a marked patrol car. A police officer he is known. He's paid by the citizens' taxes To make it safe on the streets. But he usually has a second job 'Cause a waitress has his salary beat. Now he doesn't know a holiday 'Cause he works all year round. And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive At his home he cannot be found. He's cursed and assaulted often, The one whos blood runs blue. He seldom ever gets a thanks, To some he's just a fool. His friends are always other cops 'Cause people just don't understand That underneath his badge and gun, He's just another man. He knows there might not be a tomorrow In this world of drugs and crime. And he gets so mad at the court system 'Cause the crooks don't get any time. And each day when he leaves for work, He prays to God above. Please bring me home after my shift So I can see the ones I love. But tonight he stops a speeding car, He's alone down this ole' highway. It's just a little traffic infraction. He does it everyday. Well, he walks up to the driver's window, And his badge is shining bright. He asked the guy for a driver's license, When a shot rang through the night. Yes, the bullet hit its mark, Striking the officer in the chest. But the Department's budget didn't buy Each officer a bullet-proof vest. So he lay on the ground bleeding. His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red. And briefly he thought of his loved ones 'Cause in a moment the officer was dead. In the news they told the story Of how this officer had died. And some who listened cared less, But those who loved him cried. Well, they buried him in uniform With his badge pinned on his chest. He even had his revolver, He died doing his best. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. So many times I have come to this website but just couldn't write the right words. But lately, things are finally getting clearer. The kids, all of them are coming to their own, you would be proud of each and every one of them. In their own ways they have reached great heights I have kept my promises to you and to your wishes. It is very hard without you. I still can't believe that you, Mom and Dad are not physically here with us. I will always honor all of you, through thoughts and actions. Family is everythng. Love you & miss you. your sis, "Leah", Lydia Sister - Lydia M. Romero Huard Romero family 2006-11-19

Dear Officer Romero and Family, We honor your life and service to your fellow citizens today. I know this has been an unbelievably horrible and sad year for your family. We share in that pain with the loss of our precious son two years ago. Matthew received an award from MADD the year before his accident for making the most drunk driving arrests in his department. He had no tolerance for it, they ruin lives as you well know with no regard for anyone. We remember always with respect.

Dear Officer Romero: I did not have the privilege of knowing you, but I've met your wife and all five children and feel honored to know them. I'm a volunteer victim advocate for MADD-San Bernardino County Chapter and know all too well what drunk and impaired drivers can do. I have promised Sandra that we all are working so this never happens again. Your fellow officers (of my beloved CHP) are diligent and doing their duty. You will never be forgotten. God's speed, motorman. Patrol Heaven's streets with dear Reuben Rios and John Bailey...they were our best too. Wish my injuries had not kept me from passing the physical so I could pick up part of your beat here on earth. YOU and my guys know why I'm not wearing the badge. So we'll keep you in our hearts.
Love, Aunt LoVae Civilian LoVae Pray Martines MADD-San Bernardino County Chapter 2006-03-04
You are the reason I continue to arrest drivers under the influence.
Rest In Peace Brother
