Vicki
I think about you and miss you. I cannot pass 3rd District without thinking of you. There is a tree planted at the backdoor of the roll call room in your memory with a plague. It looks really nice.
Thanks for the memories. Rest in Peace my friend. Major Patricia Tauzin Baton Rouge Police Dept 2009-05-09
Vickie I just wanted to say "Thanks" for helping me with that Civil Service test. It wasn't easy, but when I asked for you help, the outcome was a passing grade. When I head down home and pass your final resting place, I glance your way and smile, because we made each other smile with the talks we had. Sorry I didn't get to saying this earlier, but you are missed. Thanks for being Vickie. Lt. Dwayne Bovia Baton Rouge City Police 2008-11-02

Rest in Peace Lt. Wax- from a 25 year civilian and military police vet, who stared death in the eye a time or two. You risked your life everyday to keep Baton Rouge safe, your death was not in vain. Sgt. William S. Safer Ret Worcester Massachusetts Police Dept. 2008-08-22
My sincere regrets and condolences to the family, particularly Willie Wax. I worked with Willie at Olympus Insurance Company, BR, LA after leaving E.B.R. Parish Sheriff's Ofc. It is with deepest regret I receive the news of Vicki's death; my family and I liked her very much and it's a great shock to read this article

I was absolutely stunned to hear of this tragic news. In 1986, Detective Wax helped me to recover from being the victim in a fraud/forgery case. I was so appreciative of her help and I have never forgotten her. I never will. Rest in Peace Officer. Marilyn Silva (no rank) prior forgery/fraud victim 2008-08-22

Vickie, I cherish the times we worked together and you were on my mind today. You will forever be missed by all who had to honor and privelege to know you. I pray that your family and friends find peace knowing you are in a better place. Elizabeth R. Friend 2008-02-24
"The Badge" He starts his shift each day To respond to calls unknown. He drives a marked patrol car. A police officer he is known. He's paid by the citizens' taxes To make it safe on the streets. But he usually has a second job 'Cause a waitress has his salary beat. Now he doesn't know a holiday 'Cause he works all year round. And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive At his home he cannot be found. He's cursed and assaulted often, The one whos blood runs blue. He seldom ever gets a thanks, To some he's just a fool. His friends are always other cops 'Cause people just don't understand That underneath his badge and gun, He's just another man. He knows there might not be a tomorrow In this world of drugs and crime. And he gets so mad at the court system 'Cause the crooks don't get any time. And each day when he leaves for work, He prays to God above. Please bring me home after my shift So I can see the ones I love. But tonight he stops a speeding car, He's alone down this ole' highway. It's just a little traffic infraction. He does it everyday. Well, he walks up to the driver's window, And his badge is shining bright. He asked the guy for a driver's license, When a shot rang through the night. Yes, the bullet hit its mark, Striking the officer in the chest. But the Department's budget didn't buy Each officer a bullet-proof vest. So he lay on the ground bleeding. His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red. And briefly he thought of his loved ones 'Cause in a moment the officer was dead. In the news they told the story Of how this officer had died. And some who listened cared less, But those who loved him cried. Well, they buried him in uniform With his badge pinned on his chest. He even had his revolver, He died doing his best. It will be 2 years since your tour of duty ended. Thank you for your long and dedicated service to law enforcement. I know your loved ones still think of you every hour of every day and their hearts will be broken forever. Even though the individual that caused all this pain will eventually meet his maker to atone for his action, it will not bring you back to your loved ones. Such a sensless act that has changed the lives of your loved ones forever. There are no magic workds I can offer them to help ease their pain except that you are a true hero and for them to keep your memory alive. Keep watch over them and wrap your wings around them to help ease some of their grief. You will never be forgotten.

LT. Wax your work on this Earth as we know it is done. You are in God's Care now..May you rest in peace Blue Angel.!! SGT. Daryl Brewer Clarksville Police Dept...Clarksville, Tennessee 2006-02-21
I wanted to leave a reflection and say that you are a true hero and you will never be forgotten. There are no words I can say to your family to help ease their pain or broken hearts. The only advice I can give them is to keep your memory alive by talking about you to others and the same for your brother and sister officers that knew you-talk about Vickie between yourselves, to others and to her family. I also ask that those officers stay close to your family and help them any way they can. Vickie, you will never be forgotten. Please watch over my son Michael who joined your ranks on 8/8/04, you can't miss him, he'll be the one with the spit shinned shoes and the funny little smile. Keep watch over your family. I will end with the following for your family: "Always in our hearts, always in our words, forever young, forever Blue. Our Guardian Angel."
