Grandfather,
As your Great Great Grandson, I am proud of the heritage you have left. I have heard many stories about you and your life from my Grandmother. You are a true hero in my eyes. Someday we will meet and talk things over, of this I am sure. I salute you Grandpa.

It has been a long time coming, but even today we remember you and your sacrifice. We have not forgotten and I am honored to call myself a fellow officer. I hope that you are present in spirit for the memorial dedicated to you.
