We are sorry for your Loss. My family has also experienced the loss of a loved one in the line of Duty. This was sent to us, We found this helpful. Hope this helps your family as well.
My Dearest Family and Friends
Somethings I'd like to say but first of all to let you know that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven where I dwell with Our Lord above. where there's no more tears or sadness just eternal Love. Please don't be unhappy because I'm out of sight, remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and Night.
The Day I had to leave you when my Life on earth was through God picked me up and hugged me and He said I welcome you. It's good to have you back again, You were missed while you were gone. As for your Dearest Family they'll be here later on. I need you here so badly as part of my big plan. Theres so much we have to do to help our Moral Man. Then God gave me a list of things that He wished for me to do, and foremost on that list of mine is to watch and care for you. I'll be beside you everyday and through out the years, And when your sad. I'm standing there to wipe away your tears. When You lie in bed at night the day's chores put to flight God and I are close you in the middle of the night. When you think of my life on Earth and all the loving years, because your only human they are bound to bring you tears.
Please don't be afraid to cry, it does releive the pain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned, But if I were to tell you You wouldn't understand. One thing is for certain, though my life on Earth is over I'm closer to you now than I ever was before.
To My many Friends, Trust God knows what is best.I'm still not far away from you I'm just beyond the crest.
So, If you can help somebody who is in sorrow or in pain, then you can say to God at night my day was not in vain. And now I am contented that with my life. it was worth while,Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile. If you meet somebody who is down and feeling low just lend a hand and pick him up as on your way you go. When Your walking down the street and you've got me on your mind just know Im walking in your footstep only a half a step behind. And if you feel a gentel breeze or wind upon your face thats me just giving you a great big hug or just a soft embrace. I will always love you from the land way up above We'll be in touch again soon PS God sends his Love. Anonymous

Four years ago on this date. A nine year old wakes up and puts on his Sunday best and getting ready to wish Mom a happy "Moms Day". Everything was fine until i heard my parents weeping over the death of my beloved friend. I Walk into Church crying, people telling me "I know how you feel" when i correct them "You have no idea what I just lost". I lost a hero I had looked up to my whole Life, who cared for me when i was down. All I could think is "God, why him?" It was so confusing why a man this good had to leave this earth so early. After four years i still wish i could understand why. If you look at Life hard enough you can completley understand how you never know how much you love someone until they are gone. But one thing is for sure is that he is not gone yet and I will someday be with him in Heaven forever.

Thankyou TROOPER JONES for your service and sacrifice. You will never be forgotten POLICE OFFICER PHILA PA 2008-02-28
"The Badge" He starts his shift each day To respond to calls unknown. He drives a marked patrol car. A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes To make it safe on the streets. But he usually has a second job 'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday 'Cause he works all year round. And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often, The one whos blood runs blue. He seldom ever gets a thanks, To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops 'Cause people just don't understand That underneath his badge and gun, He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow In this world of drugs and crime. And he gets so mad at the court system 'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work, He prays to God above. Please bring me home after my shift So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car, He's alone down this ole' highway. It's just a little traffic infraction. He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window, And his badge is shining bright. He asked the guy for a driver's license, When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark, Striking the officer in the chest. But the Department's budget didn't buy Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding. His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red. And briefly he thought of his loved ones 'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story Of how this officer had died. And some who listened cared less, But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform With his badge pinned on his chest. He even had his revolver, He died doing his best.

My thoughts are with your loved ones on this 3rd anniversary of your EOW. I can not believe the travesty of justice in this case, the individual that caused so much pain and suffering for an entire lifetime received a slap on the wrist. I hope he thinks of what he has done for the rest of his life, every day as those loved ones have to face every day. Keep watch over your loved ones. You will never be forgotten. I RETIRED YOUR VEHICLE "Q-24" TO THE MOTOR VEHICLE DIVISION WITH JUST UNDER 200,000 MILES. THERE IS NO LONGER A BLACK UNMARKED CROWN VICTORIA AT THE COLLEGE PARK BARRACK. IT WAS A HONOR TO DRIVE YOUR CAR AND AT TIMES I FELT LIKE YOU WERE RIGHT BESIDE ME TELLING ME WHICH WAY TO GO AND KEEPING ME SAFE. I WAS FORTUNATE TO WORK WITH SUCH A SOLDIER. YOUR LOYALTY TO THE JOB, YOUR COMPASSION FOR THE CITIZENS OF MARYLAND AND YOUR SMILE IS WHAT I REMEMBER MOST. KNOWING YOU HAS MADE ME A BETTER PERSON. NOT A DAY GOES BY THAT I DO NOT THINK ABOUT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. REST IN PEACE. TFC A. HOHENSTEIN MSP BARRACK "Q" 2007-01-26
Merry Christmas Jones family.

Hi Tony. I can't help but smile every time i think about seeing you at church every Sunday. I may not have been the best sunday school student but you always encouraged me when i was questioning things and questioning myself. My brother and I always felt like we had a special bond with you. Matthew never wanted to go church but when he saw you i could always tell his eyes would light up and he would remember why he did it. You always greeted us with that famous smile and we always walked away feeling like we had a special bond with you. But thats how you made all the people around you feel. I am always reminded of how you encouraged Matthew and I and were a role model to two young men trying to follow in your image: courage, dedication, strength and love. That is what you taught us. And i will never forget... Justin Arrington Student and friend 2006-11-27
To the family and loved ones of Trooper First Class Anthony Jones, his fellow troopers with the Maryland State Police, and most especially to Josie:
I had the privilege and honor of meeting and sharing time, tears and memories with your mother Josie at the 2006 COPS Parents' Retreat. She was so sick but wanted to be there for you and other families. When I left Missouri yesterday, I left knowing that I had forged some bonds that will never be broken.
After returning home to California, I knew that one of the first things I wanted to do was visit your memorial page. From all the loving reflections left about you, I can see that you were an amazing man and what a grievous loss your loved ones have endured because of your tragic death.
The sentencing of the drunk driver who killed you and the botched circumstances that led to that travesty of justice occurring is so unfair. Your mother is so angry and rightfully so. You and your family deserved justice but were denied, at least in this world.
May your spirit continue to soar and your memory continue to inspire. You are so loved and so missed by so many.
Rest in Peace, Tony. A body is but for a lifetime, but spirits and souls are for eternity and yours is forever part of those who call you beloved.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Tony gave to his community and the citizens of Maryland, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on May 9, 2004.

TFC Jones, Thank you is not enough, you went out everyday, and put others before yourself. Your selflessness will be remembered by all who worked with you and those who love you.It takes a special breed to be a law enforcement officer in today's world, and you definitely fit into that category. I am pursuing a career in law enforcement with the MDSP,and hope to fit the shoes a trooper has to wear day in and day out. You are gone but not forgotten.May the Lord Jesus Christ bring Peace and Comfort to your family.GODSPEED Joseph F. Palmer No Current Agency 2006-09-15
It has been over 2 years since your tour of duty ended and I know the tears still flow from the many broken hearts that were left behind. It was a travesty of justice that the individual that caused all this pain to those that love you so much by only receiving a fine for their reckless action. In the case of the intoxicated driver that killed my police officer son I received justice as this individual also died. Keep watch over your loved ones, wrap your wings around them and protect them. You are a true hero and have not been forgotten nor will you ever be forgotten as heroes never die.

Trooper Jones, You were always there to help in any way you could. You were a friend to those you did not even know. I remember joking with you about starting this career after retiring from the military, but you just smiled and said it was something you always wanted to do. There are times when I am bringing a prisoner in to District I's sallyport that I can still see you standing by your cruiser. You were a good man, and an excellent officer. I am bettter for having known you. May God bless you and your family. Patrol Officer Prince George's County Police 2006-03-11

hi, my name is debbie. my brother wally was a riverdale police officer. he was killed in the line of duty on feb 4. luckily the animal that killed him was shot and killed by his fellow officers. i just received my cops book and was reading it. when i read the part about cop killer trails i was shocked to read about officer jones. it just sickens me to read that some drunk pig can kill an officer and only get traffic school. what is the matter with these laws. my heart goes out to his family and friends.
