Far too often railroad police officers are not noticed or not acknowledged. I am glad to see Railroad Detective Gaughenbaugh honored here. Justice may be blind, but these officers are the healthy eyes of the rails. God bless Benjamin Earl "Red" Gaughenbaugh, and his fellow high-iron officers for their work and countless sacrifices.
